Happy News!

A quick blog message this evening to share my happy news.  I've been selected as a 'cook' on the design team for the wonderful Chicken Soup!  I cannot wait to get started and join all the other lovely designers, I'm smiling from ear to ear :-))

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  So I did Alexandra Palace and it was packed but brilliant.  I was tempted to buy so much but I behaved - instead I have a very long Christmas list!

So here is my workdesk - my diddy little sewing machine is out which I adore and I'm using Echo Park - Summertime papers.  After playing I created this layout - another one of the eldest son (youngest son is keeping count and getting bitter!)

Remember to pop over to Julia's - she's responsible for this craze!  Have a great week and come back soon :-) xx

Sarah's Cards - Sketch Challenge

This month Sarah's Cards sketch challenge has been set by Rachel Ward and I liked it instantly so this is my entry - determined to use the lovely Echo Park - Summertime papers even though it's feeling very autumnal out there right now! :-)

Trip to Ally Pally :-))

I experienced my first trip Alexandra Palace and realised very quickly there are thousands of crafty people out there so why am I always having to explain what scrapbooking is about?!  It was a great experience and lovely Louise chauffeured us there and back so I felt very spoilt.  I made quite a few purchases but squirreled them away quickly (too many eyes in my home!) but right now I'm lovingly looking at Echo Park - Summertime papers.   I've been meaning to buy these for some time now and finally they are on my workdesk so watch this space :-)) x

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Welcome again to my workdesk and just to let you know I'm a happy girlie today!  Later this morning I'm off to Scrapaholix run by the lovely Louise and this weekend I'm off to Alexandra Palace for the Stamp and Scrapbooking Show.  My credit card is threatening to grow legs and run away!!
So what's on my workdesk....
To the left is piles of papers which I'm getting around to sorting from my weekend crop in Aldershot which was heavenly.  The 'camping' was a nice cosy room and sleeping on an airbed was no problem, maybe because I didn't actually go to bed until about 2am!  The ladies who organise the crop are wonderful and looked after us all so well - delicious homemade cakes too!   The cards pictured were 'make and takes' from the crop and the gorgeous Teresa Collins 'Celebration' papers (look at those cupcakes!) were a prize - I won best layout inspired by certain colours and here it is ....

Amazingly no cats adorning the workdesk this morning but found Darcy like this when I returned from the crop on Sunday night.
Remember to pop over to Julia's place to find out all about the extremely addictive WOYWW.

Have a lovely week everyone.
Christine  :-) xx

Packed and ready to go!

I'm off to Aldershot for my crop weekend and this is me packed -  note the blanket and pillow because I'm camping(!) and the furbaby that would quite like to come along too!

And managed to fit in a layout too!  :-)

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Hello again everyone.

Firstly: SORRY!  I was totally useless last week at getting around all the desks - my time got hijacked by tons of other things but I promise to be brilliant at visiting this week :-)

Secondly: THANK YOU!  I received lots of kind comments for which I am so grateful.  My garden flowers got a lot of praise, this is all due to my green fingered mum, she grows all the bedding plants from seed and delivers trays of them - I just plant them and they grow beautifully.

Thirdly: MY DESK!  This week the desk is in full creative swing.  The adornment to the left is Darcy - she frequently joins me while I scrap.  She likes to lay in front of my little DVD player just to seek that extra bit of attention!  I've been using my August kit from Sarah's Cards - the papers are Pink Paislee, Bayberry Cottage.  I adore these papers and I admit I've copied a layout from one of their DT's because it was so lovely.  The photo is Mitchell most definitely posing in those ridiculous sunglasses!

Fourthly: I'M EXCITED! This weekend I'm off to Aldershot for a Cove and Runways Ends Crop - never been before but I'm promised a packed weekend of scrapbooking.  We're staying in a scout activity centre and I'm taking my blow up bed and sleeping bag - I figured for one night I can pretend to be a kid again! ;-)

Fifthly: Have a great week everyone.  Thanks for visiting. :-))

Laptop - Lap Cat!

This is Imogen making it clear that she can still sit on Mitchell's lap despite a laptop!
Hard to believe this was the cat that even the vet said should be sedated permanently!  She is part feral and therefore has anger management issues.  As she has got older and we have persevered with her, she has mellowed and we wouldn't part with her for the world :-)

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Welcome again to WOYWW - aren't Wednesdays great now! I hope you all had a great week and thank you for all your kind comments - I love them!  Remember to visit Julia for all the info about WOYWW.

This week - I made a start on the Christmas cards and after just one I got bored!  In theory this card making is good but I should really admit that I'm a definite scrapbooking girl.  I'm hoping to go back to the crimbo production line but I fear I could talk myself out of it!   I did manage to photograph the desk mid-production line before I cleared it all away and started on a layout!

Have a good week everyone :-)

First Day

My eldest son started sixth form today and as he walked out the door I shuddered at how quickly the time has gone.

Here he is with my youngest which seems like only yesterday and then today.. my grown man with his own unique style!

Someone stop time please....

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Hello again.  So what is on my workdesk today... mmm very little!  Instead I'm sharing with you my new stamps I just had to have and the plan is most definitely Christmas cards.  I have a lovely stash of Christmassy papers that my sister bought for me and they are crying out to be used - so hopefully by next week you will see the photographic evidence of a little Christmas card industry!!  Pop over here to see what all this desk thing is about - addictive and wonderful!
Have a great week everyone :-)
